We’ve been in TV for about 4 years now. We’ve done pretty much everything from writing, directing, editing and producing. We know we can make a kickass film.
We’ve made a couple of award winning short film before, but damn, this is our first feature film. And getting first features made is very tough and looking for funding from private investors is finicky business. We managed to get things off the ground with sponsors. JVC and Jackpot Finder came in very early. But we needed cold hard cash and our savings were inadequate. That’s why we turned to crowdfunding.
WHAT THE HELL IS CROWDFUNDING?
Crowdfunding means you get to fund the films that you want to see get made. And filmmakers like us get to make them.
In June 2010, we started a crowdfunding campaign on IndieGoGo and raised about $4000 over a period of 20 days. We got a lot of support from friends, fans and loved ones. As far as we know, Auto! is Singapore’s first crowdfunded film.
WHY YOU SHOULD CONTRIBUTE
This is your chance to be part of Singapore’s film history (even if you’re not from Singapore). Funds to make a film doesn’t have to come from Big Business. You can make it happen. And we’d really rather be accountable to you!
This is going to be fun. You get to be a part of it and you get to see your name in the credits.
We need your support. We can’t get this movie made without your help. And we don’t leave you empty handed, either. If you contribute to the film, you’re a VIP. And VIPs get all sorts of perks!
